"idk what all to say this mv is awesome. all the imagery is super cool and the way it's all put together is great. the moments of the band being silly together make it even better and krist being too tall for the room always makes me giggle. kurt also looks gorgeous in that vid like excuse me sir"

Peter Gabriel, Sledgehammer
My personal favorite song off of his solo career
Widely appealing, this white guy soul is packed full of dick joke based double entendres, backed by a funky baseline played by Tony levin, and an excellent synth horn section.
This is, above all else, an extremely fun song, whether it be the nonsensically entertaining bass line, the over-the-top to the point of comedy synth-horns dominating the higher registers, or the simple guitar keeping time, there is something nuanced here for everyone, including Peter’s own flute intro and solo.
This, like all Peter Gabriel songs is awesome in concert augmented by Gabriel’s stage presence by him and his backing band. Modern performances have Gabriel wear a vest made of lights that illuminate the venue during the performance while older performances rely on a younger Gabriel’s physique that allows him to seemingly teleport across the stage with long performative lunges
